MINECRAFT RRRAAAAGGGGEEEE

So here I am, playing Minecraft. I go down a REALLY long cave. I find ~10 diamonds-the most precious rescource in the game- and try to find my way back up by digging to the surface.
I come across an awesomely drawn extremely dark cave. As this was before 1.8.1, I couldn't turn the brightness up. I'm thinking to myself, "Might as well scope out this cave and get even more materials".
So then I mine out the block.
Next thing that comes out of my speakers is HHHHIIIIIIIIISSSSSSS- the dreaded mating call of a CREEPER
I try in vain to switch to  my sword, but it is too late.
KAABOOOOOOM
And the death screen comes up. Initiate rage mode.
EVERY DIAMOND GONE!
This is a fate that has befallen many a brave cave adventurer. The creeper is one of the most despised things ever in the world of Minecraft.
Even so, a lot of monuments have been dedicated to the Creeper.
Too many

Creepers seem the de facto choice of decoration for your Minecraft world. I wonder why you would spend so many resources on something that kills you and destroys your stuff. Maybe it's out of respect. Why would you this sort of thing?
